At Sanskriti Lifestyle, we have a mix of genuine antique furniture and excellent replicas. The wooden door featured (top left) is a genuine antique from a demolished home in Rajasthan. The grain mill is old, and used to be a common kitchen tool in most homes.
We also have a great range of replicas, like the bench and the side chair with Singapore cane (bottom). Whether old or new, our furniture and home decor is "top quality and ever-green", to quote a customer :) All our replicas are made with recycled teak wood from demolished homes. Recycled wood has already been seasoned over the years. So our furniture doesn't face common issues like warping and swelling which even new teak wood can face. More importantly, recycled wood is great for our environment as it reduces the market for illegally-felled forest trees.
Anyone who has visited Sanskriti Lifestyle knows how important the environment is to us. For our buildings, we've made copious use of old doors, windows and pathways. Plus, the number of flowering trees and creepers we've planted is a testament to our commitment to our environment. Visitors to our lifestyle store know first hand that Sanskriti Lifestyle is as much about shopping as it is about experiencing this "beautiful landscaped ambiance"- again, as noted by a customer. It seems fitting to share with our online customers the "fleur du jour", then! Featured here is a bunch from our beautiful Madhur Malti creeper.
Also featured are silk embroidered cushions and wall panels from Kutch.
Quality is everything at Sanskriti Lifestyle. Whether it is our beautiful, hand-crafted wooden furniture, or our home decor range, the quality of our products is in plain sight. Our customers often tell us that the top two things they love about our products is our designs and high quality. It has always been our focus to deliver the best quality products at a great price, and so we are happy that Pune acknowledges our effort :)
Featured here is a set of ceramic diyas and agarbatti stands. Our artist uses high-quality glazes and bakes each piece slowly to get this rich, glossy blue finish. There are no shortcuts to beauty.
Another feedback we got from our customers is that they love wandering about our gardens because of the beautiful flowers in it, like this beautiful Krishna Kamal, or the blue passion flower. The plant is still in bloom, drop in to see it!
Stylish home decor is surprisingly easy. Look around you and draw your inspiration from nature. Hydrangeas are beautiful flowers that contrast beautifully with wooden furniture. Here's our style tip- gather a bunch of this beautiful flower and group it with clear class and white artifacts for a really classy look. We've used clear candle stands, but you could use a clear glass vase. Sanskriti Lifestyle has a variety of glass vases to choose from. They do surprisingly well in Mahabaleshwar and even the outskirts of Pune around the monsoons and winter. The flowers change colour based on the soil's acidity or alkalinity, which is why they're called nature's litmus paper. So a bunch of pink flowers can be turned to blue or purple by making the soil more acidic.
Here's how you can get your hydrangea fix. Get them at a florist- they are expensive, but look great even after they've dried. Worth the extra cost. If you have a garden, get a plant. After it blooms, let the flowers dry on the plant, then cut them and use them as a dry arrangement. As a last resort, get artificial hydrangeas. Ok, I'm not a big fan of the factory-made variety, but if it works for you, go with it.
