We at Sanskriti Lifestyle can guide you with a few ideas to get creative and revamp your home-décor with unique tables. Re-purpose old objects into unique pieces of furniture. Make a trip to the local flee market and look for good quality wooden doors and windows. Get a carpenter to polish it and add legs. Know that these pieces need some work to strip off that old paint, buff and polish. Factor this into your costs. Your hard work will be rewarded- there's nothing more beautiful than a burnished, golden teak wood surface with its distinct concentric rings. Add a glass table-top for a retro, quirky charm. At the same time, since you're using recycled wood, everyone's a winner.
Feel more adventurous? Use vintage luggage bags and wicker work picnic baskets as side tables. Even old drum sets can be used to make tables for backyard parties. Remember, your home decor can be as unique as you want to make it.

Holi is just a few days away, and it’s time to spruce up your homes with a make-over! Here’s an easy guide to a simple, easy and creative make-over:
Start from the basics- add flowers. They uplift the mood, and add zing to the interiors. Garlands of marigold decorating the entrance would make your home look inviting. Add colorful flowers in your dining room and kitchen to take on the festivities in full vigor.
Change the table covers- do not forget to put together color coordinated napkins and matching crockery. Add vibrant upholstery to the old chairs, and throw in a few cushions to turn the monochrome look into a vivacious one.
Adorn the walls with colorful wall hangings. Change the curtains and the bed sheets- look for something floral and bright. You could also opt for a solid neon color which could instantly change the vibe of your room.
Paint the wall a new color. Or you can dedicate the wall to special pictures. Maybe pictures taken from Holi Celebrations in the past is an idea!

International Women’s Day is a day to recognize contributions made by women in all facets of life. It celebrates womanhood, and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. It is of high significance here in India where until recently, social pressures limited women to managing their households. Thankfully, things are a lot different today. We are now walking shoulder-to-shoulder with men, and have achieved a new sense of dignity and self-worth. Sure, there are still glass ceilings, but that's a battle the western world world is fighting too.
Indian women like Indra Nooyi, Chanda Kochhar, Mary Kom, and Priyanka Chopra have made their mark in their fields. Not only have they been great role models for other Indians, they have also changed the way the world sees Indian women.
Let’s dedicate this day to celebrating the identity of the strong force of women who has shaped and guided our lives. A very happy Women's Day to all women from us at SANSKRITI LIFESTYLE. Seen here is a pair of pants, bold, but with a traditional woven detailing. Our sense of style, whether in fashion or in furniture, is a blend of the traditional and the modern, reflective of our country's present sensibilities.
Beadwork is an age-old art form from Gujarat. Unlike many handicrafts that were a means of livelihood for predominantly male craftsmen, traditionally beadwork was primarily a hobby that the women of the house engaged in.
Like the name suggests, little glass beads are used to create tapestries. Artists painstakingly sow together row upon row of beads. Precise calculations are used to create beautiful, geometric designs. The motifs range from flowers and animals to traditional symbols like the swastik and 'kalash', a brass bowl with mango leaves and a coconut used during ceremonies. Featured below is a fan, where the geometric pattern is perfectly arranged around a circle, each triangle containing the same number of beads as the others. Beadwork is used to make bags, torans (a decorative strip that hangs across the top of the door), boxes, caps and belts.
Is enough being done to ensure demand for this art form? For this unique Indian art form to survive,it needs to be applied to a larger variety of our day-to-day life. Do you have suggestions for us? Go ahead and tell us what other beadwork items you'd like to see.
